A cozy spot with friendly hosts! The location is perfect for strolling to nearby cafes and bars. Rooms are clean, though some need a bit of updating. Loved the charm of the kiwiana decor. Ideal for families and sports teams. Would definitely stay again!

Amazingly nice staff, exceptional services, and excellent location near restaurants/cafes as well as restaurants and town. Great way to end our weekend.

Overall had enjoyable stay on vacation. The location in a very very nice area was comfortable and there were the main shopping centre and a shopping mall nearby. Btw, went to city centre, located within a close distance from the hotel.

The hosts were welcoming and went above and beyond to assist me with local information. The clean and comfortable room was great value for money. the location struck a perfect balance—quiet yet just a short walk from town amenities.

The stay was great. Friendly hotel and the location near the center was favourable. The room with its own artwork of gisborne. The interior of the rooms was beautiful.

We arrived to a cramped room with two beds when we booked for one, making it impossible to move around. The bathroom felt neglected and lacked basic amenities. it was disappointing and gave off a rundown vibe.

After a long drive from Taupo, I was greeted warmly by Farnie and Brenda, who went the extra mile to ensure our comfort. The family-friendly setup allowed us to relax and enjoy nearby attractions like the Square and Victoria Esplanade Gardens. The clean, themed room and handy BBQ facilities made it feel like home away from home. I highly recommend it for its value and the lovely hosts who made us feel welcome.

was dissappointed the spa was not was not operating and a play area for children would be nice

The hotel had a very central position very close to shops and restaurants, downtown area and night life. The venue was set away from the main road, what meant no noise. We loved the local cuisine in the restaurant.

During my recent stay at the alpha, I was impressed by the cleanliness and the welcoming atmosphere. the staff were friendly, making me feel right at home. they even provided great restaurant suggestions and a nice discount for my stay. overall, it was a comfortable experience, and I appreciated the good internet speed that made my necessary work a breeze.

A few things felt outdated. 😕.

The well-priced accommodation featured good cooking facilities, which made it easy to prepare meals and enjoy my time. The attention to cleanliness was especially commendable, making me feel right at home.

I encountered a minor inconvenience: the outlets in the room were quite limited. It was challenging to plug in multiple devices, such as my alarm clock and phone charger, which was slightly frustrating.

Staff were very friendly.

There was a big group of secondary school kids staying there, and they became noisy at night. We expected them to quieten at 9.30pm as this was stated in the Alpha Motor Inn guide. We were disappointed that the staff/owners didn't enforce this rule.
